Who We Are
We are a coalition that has activism at its core. We seek to make research and innovation systems everywhere more responsible, inclusive, efficient and responsive as an integral part of society and economy.
We started as a coalition of organizations and individuals with a grand vision supported by EU-funding in 2018 to carry out a research programme, and evolved to become an open and welcoming community, spreading and sharing the ideas of responsible research and innovation.
The 2017 global agreement called the Recommendation on Science and Scientific Researchers set global standards that we promote.
The RRING community will not only support the national assessment and reporting processes that examine these norms and standards but will also enable practice and knowledge exchanges with scientific communities globally, to seek ways to improve, apply and develop specially-designed tools.

Learning from best practices in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI)
Although there is a wealth of projects and consortium in this sector, a certain methodology is needed to use the acquired knowledge to drive and achieve great progress. That is why RRING project seeks to connect researchers and research organizations into a strong community or network of professionals for responsible research and innovation (RRI).
A strong network enables better mutual learning and cooperation in responsible research and innovation. We are in the process of creating a global network named the RRING community to develop and foster open access to a global knowledge base on Responsible Research and Innovation.
Thus, RRING in this case will not provide a strategy that should be implemented from top to bottom. Instead, we want to use a bottom-up approach, learning from best practices in Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) globally and from the professionals worldwide.
This powerful network of science professionals makes a new RRING community, established to develop a connected RRI world.
