Elizabeth Shen is a futurist and visiting professor at Fudan University's School of Management. Previously she worked at Kairos Future, a global strategy firm, where she led the Future Lab as Associate Director. After graduating from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts, she worked for the Obama Administration under the White House Office of Public Engagement and Council on Women and Girls. Elizabeth conducted field research on migration, interviewing migrant workers and their families in the Philippines as a Fulbright scholar. She completed her master’s degree in Contemporary Chinese Studies, with a focus on elite-level Chinese politics, at St Antony’s College, University of Oxford. Her loci of research interests include behavioral economics, sustainably-minded emerging technologies, and US-China relations.
